The Big with a Voice

Image is a very big thing in the music industry, where it is unlikely to find an unattractive artist at the top, especially female. It is all about looks, which would have to compliment the musical talent.
For the past two years I have come across Adelle, who I believe is one of the greatest musical talents of our day, not only for her amazing voice, but because she's the 'big girl with the voice'.
Adele is far from the slim Britney or 'bootilicious' Beyonce, but that does not seem to faze her. She herself has spoken about how she would like people to focus on her voice rather than her physical appearance. I think people should pay attention to her physically, because she is BEAUTIFUL!

Recently Jennifer Hudson has made a come back, looking amazingly thin after giving birth to her son. Now i don't dispute that Jennifer looks stunning with her new figure,  but what happened to the confident 'big girl' with a voice?
What do you think about Adele's approach on just focusing on her voice, or do you think that your image is also important when one plays a part in the music industry?
I think the PR around both singers has shown them in the way that the artist is happiest, for both of them seem content with their appearance and the promotion around them shows it!
