The Royal Wedding

The day that the world had been waiting for had come! Will and Kate officially became husband and wife, on 29th April, and the day couldn't be more perfect. Everyone has spoken about how beautiful the day had been and how it seemed like a fairy tale come to life. I fully agree as my heart was pumping the whole way through, as well as having tears rolling down my cheeks, that's when i realised it had influenced me and the rest of the world.
Social media sites such as facebook and twitter were going crazy, with people's thoughts and well wishes. Seeing this made me realise how this world wide communication, this togetherness, couldn't be expressed at this scale at the time of Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding.
What surprised me most is that through the social networks the youth were able to share the impact the wedding had on them, it was amazing to see the interest of the youth today!
This form of communication and networking also links in with sociology, being social integration for the world, but what got my attention where the people around my own age.
Those in their late teens and early twenties don't have great amount of conversation about marriage, but on the day of the royal wedding it was all they talked about. Apart from comments on the wedding itself, more people united talking about their wishes for their own future marriages. Statistics show that the rate for people marrying has slumped over the past 50 years, but i feel that the wedding, of now the Duke and Duchess, could change all that. The youth generaly decide on building relationships and cohabiting, which seemed the more trendier thing to do, but we may see a turn around, where getting married is the cool thing to do. Lets wait and see!

Is this PR?... Im in!

Summer of 2010, the world was introduced to a new reality show, The Spin Crowd. What could be more exciting? We had insight in to the crazy world of PR, especially celebrity and events PR. Produced by reality star Kim Kardashian, the show was bound to gain a large amount of attention, but what hit me is the perception of PR that is given. It leaves one asking, is this what PR really is?
Personally this show gave me the perception that PR is a fun but stressful environment, showing it is not all meeting famous people and partying! We are able to view the hard work put in to what clients ask for, and some clients can be so demanding.
Command PR was the agency focused on and its owners Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck. Situations seemed real, the work seemed real, the insight was real!
Another thing that I did think about, was the reason for the name of the show. Clever or Not?

Rising Back to the Top

After all Chris Brown has been through, I think it is time for him to rise to the top! Chris Brown has had a bumpy two years after being charged of abusing his ex girlfriend, fellow singer Rihanna. Since 2009 Brown has received the most negative press attention which also affected his music sales, whilst Rihanna's in some way rocketed.
It seemed that Chris Brown's comeback was no more than a myth until 2011. His new album F.A.M.E has received great reviews from the public and has peaked at number one, but for some reason he hasn't been able to shake of this 'bad boy' image that he had received over the years. It is as if people are embracing it, like is the '50 cent' of RnB, rather than rejecting it.
During the period of his album launch Brown has been in the middle of some scandals such as the leak of his naked picture, as well as his physical outburst on a window at the dressing room of an American morning show. All this attention didn’t' seem to affect his new success, but has just made him more interesting.
Some would ask, ‘Where is the PR behind him?’
I think his PR team have been quite clever in not saying too much, rejecting the idea that Chris should release 'sob' statements. It is rumoured that Chris and Rihanna are to have their first interview together since the assault. If this pulls through this is definitely a PR move, meaning more to talk about!

Dont Underestimate the Tempah

The music artist Tinie Tempah isn't as new to the game as many would think! He has been somewhat floating around for years, but the past year or so we can say he's found the ground. Ever since the release of his chart topping single, Pass Out, the world cant stop talking about him. Promotion around this guy is amazing to say the least, its almost as if he's everywhere I turn!
His world has  not stopped spinning from his memorable performance with Snoop Dogg at last years Glastonbury, to his number one single, 'Written in the Stars' being used as part of the Wrestlemania XXVII promo. With so much going on, so much exposure you could only think that Tinie Tempah must have one the best teams behind him.
Recently being a part of the Lucuzade campaign with blink 182's drummer, Travis Barker, Tempah has become more than a musical artist, but endorsement gold. It is obvious that Tinie Tempah has been recognised to be profitable when it comes to his musical talents, his collaborations and his whole persona. The rising star is shooting fast, and he has his promotional team to thank for it. You can undoubtedly say the sky is the limit for this guy.
